Ever wonder what to wear to your family photo shoot? I get asked all the time what to wear from families. I don’t mind answering, but I found this site on pinterest Click here which I can blame my sister for getting me addicted to. (Thank you Tina I love it!) This is such a great link for all of you to view. Laci Davis thank you! You hit the nail on the head explaining how to get “that look” that we all want hanging on our wall.
I am super excited for our family photos next month with the wonderful Aaron Hunter. I can’t wait to share them all with you! So I’m on the hunt for some outfits that will make our pictures “us” and for a purple couch! Yes thats my hint.. purple is our main color that we will work around! This is going to be so much fun. The best part is we will have a family photo with our beautiful Bethany and Justin together. Thanks Aaron for getting us in and I’m looking forward to it!

This was our last family photo, look at our sweet little B. This was taken on a tripod too so you can see why I’m so excited to get a session with Aaron. I do love this photo though.

Crash, burn and waiting…

What a crazy couple of weeks we had. Last friday the 16th my computer crashed. The hard drive just died. Its only a year old computer so it was not expected at all. As a result I lost photoshop and all of my actions. So I took it down to Apple and dropped it off when they told me it would be 7-10 days to get it back. (Tears)
Following that I photographed a beautiful wedding in Oak Hills. I can’t wait to share the images with you, (Once I get photoshop back)
Then our 5 year old, Miss Bethany, had her tonsil’s removed on the 23rd. Ouch was that painful to everyone. Jake and I didn’t sleep for a couple days and B was in such pain it was heart breaking.
As if being sleep deprived and stressed wasn’t enough Sunday we woke up to our dogs being killed by a bobcat or mountain lion. They were killed in our backyard 15ft from their doggy door. So we have been devastated and exhausted. We have been blessed to have amazing friends and family be so supportive to us. Thank you to everyone.
Now this week I am photographing Mrs. Rosanne’s classes for the Apple Valley and Victorville Recreation Centers. And in the meantime I am waiting for Photoshop to arrive. I ordered it and paid expedited shipping to get it here as soon as possible, but again I am still waiting.
So shortly I will have photoshop up and running again, and I will do my best to get everyone’s galleries up and running as soon as I can. I will keep you posted here and on facebook as soon as I have news to share.

Photo Classes

A couple months ago I was teaching a photo class and I never posted photos from them, so I want to share. If you’ve taken one of my classes I’d love to hear from you. Did you get a lot out of it? Did you have fun? Anything I should touch more on? Let me know!
I have another class on October 1st, if you wanted to get in one. I have 2 spots open still. We’ll go over using your camera in manual modes, and the camera basics, natural lighting, reflectors, flash, and composition.

Everyone gets their picture taken… either standing or on a chair… but always with a camera!

All of our models get a CD of images with printing rights. So if your son or daughter is between the ages of 14-18 and willing shoot me an email. I’ve booked a model for October 1st- so if you send me an email I will put your name on my “go to” list for future needs. Thanks

The day has arrived

In less that 12 hours our new little bundle of joy will be here. I can’t believe how fast the time has gone by. In the last 9 months I have met some amazing clients that are so much more that clients- you are my friends. You have all be so supportive, loving, understanding and just awesome. I have been blessed with each of you in my life.
So tomorrow Baby Justin Morrison will be born sometime in the early morning. I promise to post photos soon for everyone to see him. You might see him sooner if you look me up on Facebook. I’m under btsphotos and tishia morrison. If your not my friend already there stop by and befriend me!
If in the next 3 weeks you send me an email and I don’t get back to you right away I’m sorry in advance. I wont be doing a whole lot of work in the next 3 weeks but I will get back to you as soon as we get settled. All of your galleries are online so if you don’t see them send me a message and I will get them to you as soon as I can. I’m pretty sure you’ve all gotten emails though.

Its April!

I can’t believe April is really here. Our baby boy is due this month which means I am on maternity leave until September 1st! I know its a long time but I am looking forward to spending time with my family and our new addition when he gets here.
Thank you everyone for all the love and support through out our pregnancy. I have been so blessed to have such amazing clients and friends.
Over the next couple weeks I will have all of your galleries from the last week up and online. I’ll still be ordering prints and working at home I just wont be shooting unless we have already discussed something.
Oh and I will be updating the blog! I know I’m not on here much but its because I have been so busy trying to get everyone in before I was done shooting.
Also, I am already booking for September and on already. Which means the holidays are going to be busy this year. If you want to secure your spot give me a call or send me an email so we can get you on the books before I’m full. I’ll be posting specials for September in the next couple months. So check back for updates.
If you need a photographer over the next few months I have a link to the left under Maternity leave with Wedding photographers that I would recommend, and you can also check with them for your other needs. I do have another child photographer that is not listed but if you give me a call I can get you her info. She’s only taking a selective amount of new clients so I haven’t listed her here.

Times a flyin

Christmas and the New Year are almost here. I can’t believe how fast this year has flown by. We have so much going on right now with holiday shoots and then personal things. We are proud to finally announce we will be having a baby boy in May of 2011. Which means I will be taking some time off next year. I will be shooting until December 11th this year and then not again until January 17th for the holidays and to take some time off with my family. Then I’ll be back in the swing of things but lightly until April. After April I will be taking some much needed time off with my family to enjoy our pregnancy and new baby. I am booking for early next year already so if you wanted to get in before maternity leave please let me know. I wont be back until September once the baby is born. (Unless of course we have already planned something) So if you need something between April and September please let me know. I have a few photographers locally that I highly recommend.
I also wanted to say thank you for all the love and help from friends, family and clients over these last couple months. I have been pretty sick and you have all been so kind to forgive my untimeliness and forgetfulness. I am so blessed to have each of you in our lives and I really do have the most amazing clients. Thanks for hanging in there with me.
I promise to post some pictures this week and once the 11th is over I will have plenty of family shoots from Wrightwood and the last couple months to post also. I’m doing my best to get the galleries up within 2 days of shooting, so everyone will get their christmas cards in time. So my time is a little occupied with that until next week. Can’t wait to share some amazing images from some pretty awesome families.

Oh and keep your eye out for a 2011 Calendar that is going to be out soon. Jake (my hubby for those that don’t know him) has a 12 month calendar being published with his work! I’m so excited and proud of him and will try to get my hands on a few to pass out.

October is over

You all must think I have fallen off the face of the earth. Believe me there have been days I wished I could or thought I had too. Really I have just been super busy. I’ve been crazy busy with shoots these days and trying hard to stay caught up so I haven’t had too much time to blog. Seem’s like Facebook is the place to reach me or see what I’m up too and even there I don’t get many photos uploaded. If you haven’t ‘liked’ me on facebook come over and do so. We’re giving away a free family session this month to the friend that sends me the most ‘likes’. That sounds funny but I guess its facebook talk. Here’s the link.

I hope you had a great October, sorry I missed sharing most of it with you. I promise to try to be better this month! I have so much to post.
